Brett Favre Gets Cover of Madden NFL 09
Here's one way to counteract the Madden Cover Curse, pick a player who has already retired.
For the cover of the 20th edition of Madden NFL Football, EA has chosen former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre. Ignoring the concept of the curse completely (as EA always does), Favre was said to be chosen because he represents the last twenty years of the NFL just as well as Madden Football does.
“Brett Favre is a perfect fit for the Madden NFL 09 cover, as he epitomizes everything the franchise has stood for the past 20 years - longevity, excellence, and a love of football,” said Madden NFL Executive Producer Dale Jackson.
This year's edition of Madden will include a new Virtual Trainer tutorial mode along with the ability to create an online league with 32 other teams. Madden NFL 09 will be released for the DS, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360 on August 12.
