Square Enix has announced that Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, a PSP remake of the Super Famicom game of the same name, will be released on February 15. The publisher has also revealed a special pre-order bonus for gamers that get the game at GameStop/EB Games or Amazon: a Tactics Ogre-themed deck of tarot cards. You can get a look at some of the cards at the PlayStation.Blog, which is also collecting questions for the Tactics Ogre dev team.
The Tactics Ogre development team is actually same team that worked on the Super Famicom original and they plan to bring a lot of new features to the PSP remake:
After more than a decade, the critically acclaimed Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together will be reborn with significant new content, including an entirely updated storyline featuring new characters, dramatic choices, engaging plots and pitched battles. The remake also features innovative changes to the battle system, character development, and even the combat interface, which all serve to update its classic strategic gameplay, making battles more intuitive and, most importantly, fun.
In order to provide players with an opportunity to experience the multitude of branching pathways and a variety of endings, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together will also introduce the Chariot Tarot and World Tarot systems, which allow players to rewind both key battles and return to critical plot points in an effort to change their fate.

The Pirates of the Caribbean will be returning to movie theaters next year in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. And what better way to celebrate than by releasing Lego Pirates of the Caribbean for the DS, PC, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360? Disney Interactive plans to do just that and they’ve recruited TT Games, the studio behind Lego Star Wars, to help them with development next May.
Like previous Lego adventures, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean will include dozens of characters and 20 levels of pirate fun taken from all four films. Players will be able to play as Jack Sparrow and other characters in a two-player cooperative mode and the anything goes Freeplay mode.
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game will re-create the action, adventure and memorable moments of the Pirates of the Caribbean mythology in Lego form, incorporating the humor of Lego minifigures and fantastic worlds built from Lego bricks and elements for players to explore. Players can take on the roles of more than 70 characters and experience the pirate adventure, irreverent humor and amazing creatures of the Pirates of the Caribbean films, through action-adventure gameplay and hilariously quirky Lego cut scenes.
If you’d rather play with your Lego Pirates of the Caribbean in the real world, The Lego Group has also announced they’ll be producing Pirates of the Caribbean-themed sets beginning in the Spring. Dibs on the Lego Kraken!

The NPD Group has released their ranking of the bestselling games in October 2010 and NBA 2K11 has tongue-wagged its way to the top spot. Facing no competition from EA Sports (the company’s NBA Elite 11 was delayed indefinitely and eventually canceled last month), the Michael Jordan-starring basketball sim cruised to an easy victory.
Gamers gambled on Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas to lift it to second place while EA’s modern day Medal of Honor reboot placed third.
For the first time in years, Nintendo was completely shut out of the monthly top ten, likely due to NPD’s new system of counting the sales of every version of a title as a single game.
Here’s the full list of the ten bestselling games in the month:
Bestselling Games of October 2010
1. NBA 2K11 (PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360)
2. Fallout: New Vegas (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
3. Medal of Honor (PC, PS3, Xbox 360)
4. Fable III (Xbox 360)
5. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II (DS, PC, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)
6. Halo: Reach (Xbox 360)
7. Just Dance 2 (Wii)
8. FIFA Soccer 11 (DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360)
9. Madden NFL 11 (PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360)
10. WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 (PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, Xbox 360)

In a few hours, Roy Halladay is expected to be honored as the National League’s Cy Young Award winner for 2010. But the Philadelphia Phillies pitcher was awarded a second honor today as well: cover athlete for Major League Baseball 2K11.
Publisher 2K Sports and developer Visual Concepts plans to bring their annual baseball video game franchise to the PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 in Spring 2011. Like the crafty Halladay, 2K didn’t tip their pitch when it comes to any other information about the next entry in the series. But they did gush about how Halladay is the perfect spokesman for their game:
“In the ‘Year of the Pitcher’, Roy has truly distinguished himself as the best pitcher in baseball,” said Greg Thomas, senior vice president of sports development for 2K. “Between his dominating season that included baseball’s 20th perfect game, and his exciting performance during the postseason, we believe there is no player more worthy of representing our revolutionary pitching mechanic on the cover of Major League Baseball 2K11 than Roy Halladay.”
With Halladay’s perfect game in May and postseason no-hitter, he became the first pitcher in nearly 40 years to throw two no-hitters in a single season. His selection as MLB 2K11′s cover athlete was just as obvious as the 1999 Hall of Fame selection of the last man to do that, Nolan Ryan.

The number of World War II games has certainly slowed to a trickle over the last few years. I think everyone’s in agreement that the conflict has become overused as a game locale. But Sega is asking gamers to go once more unto the breach with next Summer’s Captain America: Super Soldier.
In development at Next Level Games for the DS, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360, the game will be based in part on the World War II hero’s upcoming movie, Captain America: The First Avenger. Super Soldier’s expanded storyline will see Cap squaring off against Iron Cross, the Hydra Army and Red Skull.
Super Soldier’s “fast and fluid melee combat system” will be based around Captain America’s iconic shield and “dynamic acrobatic platforming.” Players will be able to wield the shield in both offensive and defensive movesets.
The original story for Captain America: Super Soldier is being written by Christos Gage, a comic book writer who is no stranger to Captain America. He has written for Avengers: The Initiative as well as the one shot Siege: Captain America. Gage will mostly follow the plotline to Captain America: The First Avenger, but he will also add “immersive twists designed to enhance gameplay alongside all-new cinematic action sequences.”

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The new version of the game will be sold for $49.99 but, aside from some new cover art, the disc itself will contain the same content it always has. The “Game of the Year Edition” part comes into play thanks to a download voucher include in the box.

A second game in the Dissidia: Final Fantasy series was a big part of Square Enix’s Tokyo Game Show presence. Now, the publisher has confirmed that PSP owners in North America will get a chance to play it when its released sometime in 2011.
The game’s official title is… take a deep breath now… Dissidia 012 (Duodecim): Final Fantasy. While the name’s a mouthful, the game promises to add a ton of new features on top of the already strong fighting mechanics found in Dissidia: Final Fantasy.
Square Enix has promised that the sequel will contain new “game modes, story missions, items, alternate costumes and combat features.” This is in addition to the first confirmed new characters: Kain (of Final Fantasy IV) and Lightning (of Final Fantasy XIII). Square Enix has many more new characters planned for Dissidia 012.
One of the biggest new features is the Assist move, which will allow players to choose a second character to act as a partner in combat.
