Nintendo Power Nuggets: Castlevania DS 3, MadWorld, Little King's Story and Naruto

The July 2008 issue of Nintendo Power has arrived and the secret of the big moon in back of the previous issue is that Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is coming to the DS. So what were the real clues? Well, the boxart from previous games in the Castlevania series regularly feature the moon on them. So yeah, no hidden codes, no secret messages, the answer was literally staring all of us in the face.

Order of Ecclesia will be set some time after Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and tells the story of Ecclesia, a group that is attempting to fight Dracula in the absence of the Belmont family. The game marks the first time in ten years that players will be able to play as a female vampire hunter. It will also continue the 2D side-scrolling traditions of the previous Castlevania games, but it will also use a more realistic art style, as opposed to the anime-inspired designs of the last two games.

This issue also has plenty of other good stuff including:

  • MadWorld for the Wii. Devloped by PlatinumGames (which was founded by most of the former members of Clover Studio) and published by Sega, MadWorld's design looks to take a few cues from Sin City. The game is done entirely in black and white, except for the bright red blood. The story revolves around a crazy Running Man-style world where the main character has been convicted of a crime he didn't commit and the only way he can his freedom is by taking part in a sadistic game show.

  • PlatinumGames is also developing an RPG for the DS titled Infinite Line. Little was revealed about the game, but the article did say it will involve "building, customizing and controlling a wide variety of spaceships."

  • Next, comes confirmation that Little King's Story will be coming to American Wii systems via publisher XSEED this winter. Previously known as Project O, the development of Little King's Story is like a video game version of a supergroup. Developers who worked on Harvest Moon, Dragon Quest VIII and Kingdom Hearts are coming together to tell the tale of a magical crown that allows a boy to make people follow his orders. From there, this little king will have to create the ultimate kingdom.

  • Naruto fans are in for a treat this Fall as Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 will be coming to the Wii and Naruto: Path of the Ninja 2 will be coming to the DS. Both games will feature stories never before told in the Naruto universe. The developers of Clash of Ninja Revolution 2 have said they are making improvements to the game based on fan feedback to the first Clash of Ninja Revolution game.

Finally, the issue has huge updates on Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise (DS) and the recently announced Rayman Raving Rabbids TV Party (Wii).
