Sadness Powered by Gamebryo Engine

It's been a while since the last press release from Nibris, the creators of Sadness for the Wii. The "black-and-white noir thriller" has been on the radar of a lot of Wii owners since it was announced several years ago, but the company has revealed little about the game except for a promotional trailer (using real actors and no footage from the game) and press releases in broken English.

But today, Emergent Technologies has announced that Nibris will be using its Gamebryo game engine in the development of Sadness. So for all those who thought that Sadness was a hoax on par with the Phantom, maybe licensing a game engine will convince you otherwise.

According to Nibris, the Gamebryo engine will allow the team to create "quite a few graphical effects [...] which some believe are impossible to attain on the Wii." Maybe next they'll release some in-game screenshots. Maybe someday.
