The May 2008 issue of Nintendo Power is arriving in subscriber's mailboxes now and it has plenty of good news for DS owners.
First things first, the cover story is a sprawling ten page article about the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV. According to the article, the game will be developed by Matrix, the same team that handled the Final Fantasy III remake, and sport a similar 3D graphical update. It will also include no load times between battles, more abilities, "elaborate summoning sequences" and a harder difficulty level. Nintendo Power says the game should be released sometime in July.
This issue also included the announcement that Atlus is hard at work on Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 for the DS. The game will pick up where the first Trauma Center left off and will continue the story of Dr. Derek Stiles and the aftermath of the GUILT virus. The sequel will feature similar gameplay to its predecessor. Aside from revealing the game will have an Easy Mode for beginners and a summer release date, that's all NP really revealed. The magazine has promised a more in-depth writeup next month.
